We all knew Barack Obama is a Sox fan, but he took it a bit further in an ESPN interview.
Obama joked about the stereotype of Cubs fans, who probably are tired of being described as partying people-watchers instead of serious fans.
"You go to Wrigley Field, you have a beer, beautiful people up there,'' Obama said, according to ESPN transcripts. "People aren't watching the game. It's not serious. White Sox, that's baseball."
Fantastic. The lord and savior of humankind is busting on the Cubs. Let's go with a little more time coaching your wife on the intricacies of not saying incredibly stupid things to the press and maybe defining a little of that "hope and change" and a little less time talking sports. I'd hate to have to change my screensaver from "Bitter white person clinging to God and my guns" to "Bitter white person clinging to God, my guns and the Chicago Cubs".
side note: yes, I realize he was being at least mostly facetious. I'm at least 4% facetious in my response as well.
